Whirlpool Suites and Inn Resort

Eagle Harbor Inn’s five acres provide a secluded and serene spot to take in Door County’s natural beauty and pristine coastline. Catch up on some reading or venture out for a stroll on the grounds where you’ll find quiet gardens and Adirondack seating. If you’re in the mood for exercise, guests can head to The Commons to work out in the fitness room or indoor current pool, then relax in the sauna.

Spend a leisurely afternoon playing bocce or croquet and stave off dinner with a homemade treat provided every afternoon at the main Inn. A little later, fire up dinner on one of the gas grills available to guests, or explore the local dining scene — we’re always happy to help you choose a restaurant and make the reservation for you. For our guests with electric vehicles, Eagle Harbor Inn now offers EV Charging stations.

Each apartment-like suite features a six-foot whirlpool tub in the master bedroom with dimmable lights, a separate rain shower, custom soaps and loofah, a two-way fireplace, ceiling fan, and a cherry wood Eastlake queen bed with a down comforter, plenty of pillows to sink into, and a cloud-like pillowtop mattress. Whip up a quick breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen and welcome the morning with coffee on the private deck. In-room amenities include four cup coffee maker and tea, HDTV/DVD, a separate living and dining room with a queen sleeper sofa in selected rooms, air conditioning, a hairdryer, and an iron. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort. Afternoon treats at the Inn are available to all guests.

Ascend to the lofted second bedroom via a spiral staircase (complete with its own full bathroom) and catch a cat nap in the queen cottage bed made with a down comforter, feather pillows, and luxurious pillowtop mattress. The Hollyhock House

Guests of the one-bedroom whirlpool suites in the log-clad Hollyhock House receive the same elegant comfort of the other suites, but with the drama of two floors in a townhouse-like setting. Each suite features a six-foot whirlpool tub in the second-floor master bedroom with dimmable lights, a separate rain shower in the master bathroom, a half-bathroom on the first floor, custom soaps and loofah, a fireplace, ceiling fan, and a queen cottage bed with a down comforter, plenty of pillows to sink into, and a cloud-like pillowtop mattress. Whip up a quick breakfast in the fully equipped, apartment-sized kitchen and enjoy it on the shared front porch. In-room amenities include coffee and tea, HDTV/DVD, a separate living and dining room with a queen sleeper sofa, air conditioning, a hairdryer, and an iron. Traditional Inn Rooms at Eagle Harbor Inn

Intimate and welcoming, our traditional Inn offers turn-of-the-twentieth-century warmth in nine uniquely decorated rooms. Each room is named for a historic woman innkeeper of Ephraim.
All rooms feature a queen bed with a private bath, flat-screen TV/DVD, an antique armoire, central air & individually controlled air in upper units, and inviting chairs.

Serena – Premier Inn Room

Head up to the second floor and step down into the largest B&B room at Eagle Harbor Inn. The dramatic vaulted ceiling features exposed beams that are offset by the canopied, four-poster queen bed. The bed beckons with a plush down comforter and feather pillows, while the wing chairs flanking the fireplace are ideal for wrapping up in a robe and enjoying a glass of wine after taking full advantage of the double whirlpool, rain shower, custom soaps, and loofah. A private balcony set with a café table and chairs allows guests to enjoy the warm night air without leaving the room. Other in-room amenities include plush robes, flat-screen TV/DVD, individually controlled air-conditioning, and a full bathroom. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort.

This room is named after historic woman innkeeper Serena Christiansen, founder of the Hillside Hotel. The Hillside was well known for its outstanding meals made with fresh ingredients. The local ingredients included fresh milk for drinking, making cream, and churning butter and ice cream; as well as fruits and vegetables from Hillside’s gardens.

This second-floor room looks westward at the front of the property. The soft pale yellow and blue color scheme lends the room an air of tranquility. An inviting four-poster bed is made with a plush down comforter and feather pillows. Wing chairs entice guests to crack open a book for just one more chapter. This room is named after historic woman innkeeper Augusta ‘Gusty’ Jarman of the Pine Grove Hotel. Gusty was a perfectionist — she kept the hotel and dining room immaculate and insisted on fresh flowers on the tables which she changed daily with flowers she collected along the road.

Josie – Deluxe Queen Room Inn Room

This second-floor room has a view of the western sky and the front of the property. The room’s wallpaper welcomes guests with its pattern of stenciled pineapples, the symbol of hospitality. An inviting four-poster bed is made with a plush down comforter and feather pillows. Slipper chairs tempt guests to break out a board game or unfold a newspaper. This Inn room is named after the historic woman innkeeper Josephine Lang, one of Ephraim’s finest cooks and bakers. She and her husband Elmer purchased an old landmark building in Ephraim and turned it into a small resort hotel named Lang’s Resort. During the 34 years they ran Lang’s Resort together, Josie shared many of her delectable recipes including oatmeal bread, meatballs, and cherry pie. The aroma of these dishes and the memory of Josephine live on in many kitchens.

Eugenia – Deluxe Queen Room Inn Room

This second-floor room boasts a westerly view and an L-shaped room with a love seat sofa that provides a relaxing reading area. This room is named after historic woman innkeeper Eugenia Smith, an independent woman who learned about business from growing up in her father’s general store. It was Eugenia who decided to build a hotel in Ephraim. To build Eagle Inn, she and her husband B.D. designed a first-class resort that was brought to life by the most talented builders and finest materials — it even had the honor of being the first hotel in Ephraim with indoor plumbing. By 1920, Eugenia managed a staff of 25 who helped her and B.D. operate a hotel of 30 rooms, 14 cottages, and a dining room that could seat 125 people.

Toneta – Deluxe Queen Room Inn Room

This first-floor room looks out toward the rear of the property. An antique iron and brass queen bed is made with a lovely floral comforter and feather pillows. Settle in and unpack your suitcase in the antique tiger oak dresser with a mirror to check your reflection before you head out to dinner. The tea table and chairs are a good place to wake up a bit before taking on the day. A sleeper chair is an ideal place to kick back after a day of kayaking, or it can accommodate a third person. Other in-room amenities include flat-screen HDTV/DVD, an attached bathroom with rain shower, custom soaps, and central air. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort.

The Toneta room rate is based on two people. An additional $24 will be added for a third guest over the age of 8.

This room is named after historic woman innkeeper Toneta Hogenson who, with her husband, founded the Evergreen Beach Hotel. It opened its doors for business in 1897 with enough rooms to accommodate 50 people, almost half the number of Ephraim residents at that time.

This Inn room is named after the historic woman innkeeper Hulda Knudson of the Knudson House. Hulda and her husband Peder possessed complementary personality traits, which created the graceful hospitality the Knudson House was known for. As a team, Hulda and her husband Peder ran a fine and respectable business serving three meals daily.

Hilda – Traditional Queen Room Inn Room

This second-floor room looks out toward the back of the property. The queen bed is made with a plush down comforter and feather pillows, perfect for sinking into after a long day of exploring. This room is named after historic woman innkeeper Olive Gunhild Larson Paschke, known and loved by everyone as ‘Hilda.’ Hilda spent time abroad in England as a governess where she learned the English tradition of afternoon tea service. When she returned to Ephraim, Hilda decided to combine her loves of people and baking by opening the Brookside Tea Garden along a trout stream at the south end of the village. The restaurant became the “in” place to be for guests of all walks of life, not only because the food was renowned but because it was reasonably priced as well. No matter how busy she was running the business, Hilda made a practice of visiting each table as they dined.

Tilla – Pioneer Room Inn Room

This second-floor room looks out toward the rear of the property. The antique iron double bed is outfitted with a luxury mattress and feather pillows. An antique armoire adds charm and storage to the room. Other in-room amenities include flat-screen HDTV/DVD, an attached bathroom with rain shower and a skylight, custom soaps, and central air. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort.

This Inn room is named after the historic woman innkeeper Matilda ‘Tilla’ Helgeson of the Edgewater Lodge. She and her husband Elias enlarged the already spacious house and added a dining room and kitchen in a house behind the hotel, as well as cottages and other outbuildings. Five of their children helped Tilla operate the hotel after Elias died at the age of 60. When grandchildren arrived, they too helped at the hotel.  Tilla was the cook and the manager.

This room is named after historic woman innkeeper Tillie Valentine Anderson, the owner of the second hotel that was built in Ephraim. She was described as “powerful, brusque and imposing” and her voice could be heard from one end of the hotel to the other. The Anderson Hotel, also known as “Tillie’s Place,” was an instant success due to Tillie’s business sense and fabulous cooking.

Amenities at Eagle Harbor Inn

The Commons is open to all guests at Eagle Harbor Inn. The Commons features a fitness room with cardio machines and free weights, a sauna, and an indoor current pool. The Iverson Room is a banquet space on the second floor of The Commons. The Iverson room accommodates up to 74 people and is available for corporate meetings, weddings, family reunions, and dinners. Throughout the resort, guests have access to outdoor gas grills and picnic seating, and each house is equipped with an ice machine. Nice weather is well spent playing croquet, bocce ball, or corn hole, followed by a nap on an Adirondack chair or chaise lounge in the garden. Seasonal items like beach chairs or sleds are available to all guests, and those with bikes can take advantage of the locked bike room complete with an air compressor for low tires. Kids can burn off energy at the playground and sandbox. Nearby, the Peninsula State Park Golf Course is less than one mile away and Ephraim Beach is one block south.

Homemade treats are served daily at the Inn for all guests. Guests can also peruse the selection of local and handmade gifts in the Inn to find the perfect treat to bring home for family, friends, or coworkers.
